Responsibilities
Provide technical insights on electrical system functionality.
Create electrical designs from preliminary concepts, sketches, and engineering data.
Utilize EPLAN and AutoCAD software for schematics and support drawings.
Ensure designs meet functional requirements (capacity, strength, reliability).
Adhere to engineering practices and tools (sizing software, prototype testing).
Monitor budget and schedule commitments during the design cycle.
Alert Engineering Supervisor to significant deviations.
Research and select electrical parts from different vendors.
Justify product choices to Project Manager and submit purchase orders.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance equipment safety.
Address individual and machine safety elements.
Maintain engineering drawings and safety validation documentation.
Provide technical support to employees and address inquiries.
Attend meetings to understand project specifications, expectations, and timelines.
Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in developing intricate electrical designs for automated systems, starting from fundamental concepts and applying engineering principles.
Familiarity with electrical systems, including 400/480/600VAC 3-phase setups, control mechanisms, I/O systems, servo control, safety circuits, and pneumatics.
Acquainted with modular cabling technologies, cable tray systems, and electrical installations.
Experience in electrical wiring and familiarity with mechanical systems are considered advantageous.
Committed to sound engineering practices, industry standards, and electrical codes.
Proficient in basic robotic operations, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.
Understanding and practical experience with conveying and material handling equipment are valued.
Known for maintaining a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
Capable of working independently or as part of a multifunctional team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, dealing courteously with staff, customers, vendors, partners, and stakeholders.
Proficient in EPLAN and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with an ability to learn and use other software packages (such as ERP software).
This position is up to 20% travel. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Must have or be eligible to obtain a passport for international travel.
