Responsibilities
* Installation and termination of conduits and cables
* Locating and installing equipment sensors and other control components and devices
* Fabricating control panels * Verifying wiring * Performing and/or assisting with start-up of systems
* Participate in the final walk-through of the site * Prepare all as-built drawings for the design engineer
* Assist the project manager in coordinating on-site activities and monitoring progress
* Lay out and plan installation
* Quantify and order the required materials
* Manage a team of apprentices assigned to you
* Provide information relating to the resolution of any design or installation problems.
* Wherever possible, you will be part of the initial transfer team to plan the job from the start
Qualifications
*High school or vocational diploma
*Job applicants must present their Red Seal or certificate demonstrating that the apprenticeship training is completed. This must be verified by the agency. The agency checks the validity using: https://tradesecrets.alberta.ca/experiencedworkers/check-credentials/ or 1-800-248-4823. Note: It is required that the worker have their Red Seal on their person at all times at the work site as you may be required to present it. If the individual is registered outside of Alberta, the Learner Licensing Administration must verify the certificate status.
* Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is desirable, as is any other training and experience in 'industry.
* Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as a desire to learn new skills and work in a team.
Certification/training required: First aid and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System ( WHMIS ) mandatory. Other training eg. fall arrest, and lift training can be provided.
