Establishes the quantities of materials required for accurate project estimates;
Interprets and analyzes the plans and specifications associated with projects;
Contacts subcontractors and selected resources for project implementation;
Estimates project durations, schedules, and required resources;
Assists the construction manager in reviewing projects upon completion;
Negotiates prices;
Holds regular meetings with clients and supervisors to meet deadlines and estimated costs;
Prepares contractual documents and costs for all contingent work;
Regularly visits project sites;
Resolves various claims;
Produces and delivers final project documents;
Performs any other tasks required by supervision.
Qualifications
Here are the requirements for the position of Cost Estimator in Laval:
Education in a related field;
Minimum of three years of experience in a similar position (construction sector) required;
Experience in multicultural environments is a significant asset;
Proficiency in relevant software (MsProject, TPL, Excel, Word);
Effective written and verbal communication skills;
Proficiency in French and English;
Strong communicator and negotiator, with good judgment, effective leadership, and initiative;
Must hold and/or be willing to undergo necessary safety training for construction sites;
Willingness to occasionally travel within the northern region.
