Responsibilities
In this General Accountant role in Markham, ON you will have the following day-to-day responsibilities:
• Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger accounts
• Create internal orders in SAP for budget control
• Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Process invoices and payments, and manage accounts payable.
• Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments.
• Prepare and process payroll, source deductions, and payroll remittances accurately and on a timely basis
• Prepare and process Sales Tax/ GST/ HST returns on monthly basis accurately and on a timely basis.
• Contribute to special projects and financial analysis as needed.
• Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in accounting or minimum 3 years experience working in the manufacturing industry
• Working towards or completion of an accounting designation CPA
• Solid understanding of standard costing issues in an ERP environment
• Proven experience as an accountant
• Excellent organizing abilities
• Great attention to detail
