Our client, a top 5 bank, is looking for a Senior Manager – Finance Performance Management for a 6 month contract. This is hybrid role supporting the Toronto location. There is a possibility of contract extension and conversion.

Responsibilities
• Overall responsibility for Forecast & Planning, monthly financials, including T-5 estimates as well as segment allocations. This includes the monthly commentary for the service groups included in the Monthly Management reporting (MMR) as well as monthly allocation reporting packages to the CIO navigators.
• Develop, review and oversee production of accurate monthly reporting packages for Digital Technology, including relevant metrics; and to ensure end-to- end transparency of reported information
• Identify and perform relevant trend analysis to facilitate discussions on opportunities; and provide advice to Digital Technology team on meeting financial targets and optimize investment decisions.
• Provide support to the VPs of the individual delivery towers including preparing, reviewing and presenting the monthly financial packages for the delivery towers.
• Develop and monitor appropriate cost allocation methods to charge Digital Technology costs to business segments and functions with supporting metrics, including work-month rate analysis
• Lead the annual review of Work Month Rate (WMR) and determining the drivers for over/under recovery for the service groups monthly.
• Assist with development of business cases and review of investment/spend decisions and prioritization, including PARs and SOWs.
• Collaborate with Digital Technology teams to foster an environment of financial discipline, transparency and accountability
• Partner with Financial Controls team to ensure effective controls and governance oversight over monthly close, P&L analysis, balance sheet review and attestation, financial disclosures
• Continuously improve process, find opportunities to standardize, automate and free-up capacity for value-add analysis and insights
• Address ad-hoc requests as applicable to Digital Technology and other Apps teams in a timely manner.
MANAGERIAL EXCELLENCE
• Manage 1 direct staff, ensuring proper training, coaching and development of the team.
• Set ambitious goals and provide regular feedback to team. Provide clear directions and expectations
• Ensure that employees understand RBC vision and purpose and how their work supports it
• Demonstrate, support and reinforce targeted behaviours under RBC’s leadership model
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and tight deadlines; independent prioritization and ability to work in ambiguous situations is expected.
• The role may require overtime and weekend work during busy periods
Qualifications
Required:
• CPA or similar financial designation with 5+ years of post-qualification experience in finance with exposure to business planning process.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and building relationships at various organization levels
• Self-motivated – ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams
• Strong business acumen, problem solving and analytical mindset
• Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, multiple data sources, and translating data/analysis into key messages and insights
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
• Knowledge of RBC financial systems.
• People management experience
