Civil Design Technologist
Full Time Permanent
Position Overview
Company has an immediate need for a Civil Engineering Technologist in the Burnaby Office. The successful candidate will have a strong interest and experience in municipal projects. They will apply their knowledge on a variety of municipal utility and road projects, ranging from conceptual design to construction services.
Responsibilities
• CAD drafting and computer-aided design tasks for municipal engineering including: roadway, water distribution, wastewater collection and pumping, and storm water management projects
• Completion of topographical and construction surveys
• Responsible for contract administration
• Completion of onsite construction inspections
Requirements
• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
• 2 to 10+ years of experience in an engineering consulting environment within the province of British Columbia
• Design and construction experience in municipal engineering projects including: roads, drainage, water distribution, sewer, and utilities design
• Preparation of cost estimates and tender documents including specifications
• A strong working knowledge of spreadsheets, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
• Highly organized and comfortable working in a fast paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with MMCD standards is preferred
