JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position has excellent growth potential and will provide the successful individual the opportunity to be part of the strategic direction of the business.

The principal responsibilities of the Lead Mechanical Engineer consist of, but are not limited to:

• Leading/Guiding a multi-discipline mechanical team to define equipment specifications, selection and purchase of fit for purpose equipment to meet process requirements, achieve schedule and the lowest total installed cost objectives
• Collaboration with project management/engineering staff to achieve project objectives
• Preparation of effort hour and cost estimates, assist in schedule development, planning the execution of work, progress tracking and technical stewardship
• Participation in project technical reviews and evaluate constructability, operability and adherence to quality standards
• Mentoring intermediate and junior mechanical engineers and provide in-house technical expertise to other disciplines

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 12+ years experience in oil/gas and energy industries with a minimum of 5 years working in similar positions
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with P. Eng. designation in Alberta or eligible for registration with APEGA
• Possess practical knowledge of industry codes and standards, conventional oil and gas processing and thermal SAGD oil processing facilities
