One of our clients is currently looking for a HR Coordinator with experience in a manufacturing environment. The focus of this role will be on Health and Safety activities. This individual will also provide hands on HR support to managers and employees.
More precisely, your principal responsibilities will be the following:
- Health and Safety: participating in committee meetings, developing programs, conducting audits, walking the plant floor
- Training: developing, coordinating and facilitating training for employees, maintaining the training database
- WSIB: manage all WSIB claims, lead investigations, document all incidents, coordinate with Ministry of Labour as needed, return to work and modified duty programs
- Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact and resource for employees, maintain an open door environment, develop and maintain relationships, employee engagement activities and programs
- Management Relations: support HR requirements of managers, develop strong and effective relationships
- Performance management: Assist managers with performance issues, prepare information for annual reviews
- Recruitment: Support the recruitment processes to help meet demand, job postings, screening resumes, coordinating and conducting interviews
- Other HR Functions: develop and deliver communication pieces, provide education on HR policies and procedures, special projects as needed
Requirements:
- University Degree in Human Resources Management or related field, CHRP is an asset
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HR role
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is essential
- Knowledgeable about Health & Safety
- Strong understanding of how HR can impact the business and experience with day to day plant operations
- Ability to quickly build relationships with employees and managers
- Employee relations experience – ability to be fair and empathetic
- Results driven
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid knowledge of employment legislation
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to use good judgment
- Self starter, flexible and a confident positive attitude
