Scope of Work:
-Procure quality products and services in the most cost-effective manner and satisfy our client's requirements on a timely basis.
-Be consistent with our client's objectives while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
-Aim to acquire these quality products and services for the lowest long-term cost which is identified and documented for significant purchasing decisions as determined by the client.
-Use Sytline to create, plan, manage and execute all Purchase Orders in a manner that minimizes production shortages while minimizing inventory days.
-Develop an aggressive strategy to immediately reduce material and services cost / lead times by negotiating, sourcing and re-engineering.
-Develop and implement purchasing and contract management work instructions, policies and procedures.
-Develop, implement and maintain a "Vendor Evaluation System" (Suppliers Score Cards).
-Identify and negotiate capacity allocated to our client from all vendors.
-Develop alternative vendors .
-Control purchasing budget ($20M).
-Direct, mentor, train and manage staff for this department (conduct effective Change Management).
-Develop and maintain a "Vendor Warranty System".
-Identify, develop and implement a contingency plan for critical suppliers and vendors.
-Prepare the purchasing budget ($20M).
-Participate in internal audits and contract reviews as required.
-Monitor the "Vendor Evaluation System" (Supplier Score Cards).
-Direct, mentor, train and manage staff in the areas of Change Management, QMS, H&S and Wellness Management System.
-Develop and conduct performance evaluations of reports.
-Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Supply Chain from a recognized University, College or Technical Institute.
-Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) or Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM) designation is a definitive asset.
-Registration in PMAC's educational program is an absolute must have.
-7+ years of progressive experience in purchasing.
-At least five years of purchasing supervision.
-Machine shop purchasing experience is required (must have knowledge of ANSI / SAE and ASTM standards as well as rubber products).
-Must be eligible for certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt.
-Must possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), strong attention to detail and be proficient with Syteline, and MS Office.
-Must possess strong organization and problem solving skills combined with the ability to work independently and with changing priorities.
-Proven experience in Global, Low Cost Sourcing.
-Must have experience with budgets of $20M or more.
-Must have strong metric skills to measure the procurement business.
-Must have the ability to think strategically with excellent quantitative skills.
-Possess basic ability in math, stats and accounting.
