The design manager will, among other tasks, act as the contractor’s representative overseeing the engineering group to ensure it achieves its objectives in terms of delivering on scope, schedule, and design criteria, within budget.
Ensure engineering resources are adequate to meet the project’s compressed schedule and anticipated high volume of design changes, revisions, and field adjustments.
Managing/challenging the Designers in order to optimize the Design; Roads and Structures.
Facilitate resolution of technical complaints from field engineers.
Manage revisions to technical errors and ensure efficient design changes and response from the engineering group.
Propose alternative design solutions
Coordinate between designers, engineers, and construction teams during RFP process.
Minimum of 10 years experience within engineering design of civil roads and bridges projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
P. Eng. designation
Experience with turnkey or firm fixed price contracts and PPP proposals
A strong leader who can motivate and engage a team with demonstrated strength in leading highly complex and diversified groups.
