Description:

The primary activities for the position will include analyzing, planning changes of product design to determine the effect on the end software product design and function including researching functional and technical issues prior to implementation. Assists on high-priority projects by applying hardware engineering, software design theories and recommends appropriate platform and communication links required to support IT goals and strategy. Additional duties include preparing necessary documentation for design review, planning and coordinating execution of changes to application product deployments and the preparation of appropriate associated documentation as it relates to operations run-books, change management and operations support documentation

The candidate should have experience with incident and problem management methodology and communication to lead customer support (in a rotation based on-call support model) related to application availability issues working through problem determination while providing feedback to incident management/response teams. The ROLE will be responsible to interface with other technology groups to explain solutions and complete work on minor software development process projects with understanding of SDLC.

Responsibilities:
Provides platform support for eID - InterConnect including:
-Analyzing and planning changes of product design to determine the effect on the end software product design and function including researching functional and technical issues prior to implementation.
-Assists on high-priority projects by applying hardware engineering, software design theories and recommends appropriate platform and communication links required to support IT goals and strategy.
-Additional duties include preparing necessary documentation for design review, planning and coordinating execution of changes to application product deployments and the preparation of appropriate associated documentation as it relates to operations run-books, change management and operations support documentation.
-Build/deployment automation and software Configuration/Release Management.
-Installing, Configuring and Tuning of J2EE Application Servers.
-Installing/maintaining software on Unix, Windows servers.
-Configure and Administer SCM Tools.
-Configuring and maintaining all SDLC environments.
-Creation, maintenance and tuning of scripted monitoring solutions.

Project coordination
-Product Management, COE?s, Development, QA, post production enhancements/activities with customer delivery and External teams to ensure on-time product enhancements.
Incident, Problem and Service Management
-Supporting incident and problem management research/reporting
-Participate in annual Disaster Recovery testing and any declared events
- Troubleshooting production related incidents providing 24 x 7 on call support in rotation
-Provide a continuously improvement plan for responsible environment to ensure optimized service availability.
-Support Continual Service Improvement program to deliver service improvement initiatives that can be measured and demonstrate business value.
-Identify operational risk, classifying risks and delivering risk mitigation.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience (3-5 years)
-Knowledge of IT platforms including: network, software development life cycle, mainframe, midrange and PC/LAN architectures.
-3-5 years of experience as SCM/release engineer, or in a position with demonstrated similar skill sets and responsibilities.
-3-5 years of experience in performing source code control management (Subversion preferred) including branching, merging, tagging.
-3-5 years of building J2EE applications using, build tools like Maven/ANT, Hudson/Jenkins.
-3-5 years of experience in configuring, administering j2ee application servers (WebSphere , WebLogic, GlassFish, Sun JES).
-2 years? experience with relational databases with oracle/sql experience.
-2 years? experience in automating manual processes using a scripting language such as Unix Shells (bash, ksh), Ant, jacl,
-Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
-Strong attention to detail, organization and decision making skills required
-Strong Communication skills
-Unix (Solaris, Linux)/Windows Server Administration Skills
-Hands On experience with continuous integration tools is a plus
-Experience with Unix (Solaris/Linux)
-Analytical problem solving kills/troubleshooting expertise
-Experience in on call support role 24 x 7 x 365 rotation
-Experience with development of monitoring scripts using Unix and tools support using Java
-Experience with incident/problem management process
