Our client, a major national legal firm, is looking to hire a Bilingual Proposal Specialist for their downtown Montreal office.

Responsibilities
Proposal and pitch support
- Act as proposal lead to provide strategic direction for the development of French and English Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), presentation materials and related documents.
This includes, but is not limited to, opportunities from Quebec clients, and involves understanding the unique aspects of the Quebec market and collaborating with Quebec lawyers to develop client-focused proposals that articulate the company's value and market differentiation;
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with attorneys and members of the Customer and Markets team to draft RFPs, RFIs, EOIs, presentation materials and related documents;
- Provide strategic direction and vision, apply proposal best practices, and influence and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure proposals and presentation materials are responsive, client-focused and reflect the added value and strengths of the law firm;
- Organize and lead kick-off meetings to determine winning themes and proposal/pricing strategy;
- Create first drafts using in-house content and tools;
- Oversee and finalize RFPs and client-ready proposals (including production using in-house print shop or submission through sourcing sites);
- Ensure RFPs, proposals and submissions are tracked in the firm's business development databases;
- Review sourcing sites to identify potential new business opportunities;
- Work with lawyers to make decisions on absence or unavailability;
- Provide support for in-person presentations to current and potential clients, including drafting agendas, presentation notes, presentations, presentation materials and related briefing materials;
- Lead and coordinate the development of responses to client reporting requests, including liaising with various firm stakeholders including Finance, Office of Inclusion, HR, IT and more;
- Assist attorneys requesting firm credentials due to tight deadlines.
- Schedule follow-ups with attorneys on proposal opportunities and track results in firm databases;
- Provide support in the production of proposal statistics, such as volume, success rate, proposals by industry sector, etc;
- Collaborate with the Research and Information team to gather and distill customer, prospect and industry information to assist lawyers in the proposal process;
- Develop industry and practice-based proposal templates to improve efficiency;
Content enhancement and management;
- Undertake the writing, editing and standardization of proposal content in English and French, including differentiators, value propositions and content related to practice areas, industry sectors and international markets, legal project management, client solutions, value-added services, pricing, etc;
- Update the firm's proposal tool with approved content.
- Provide support and guidance throughout the French translation process, work with our in-house translation team and review, revise and ensure quality control of French proposal content;
Operational and project leadership
-Ensure that processes and projects are carried out effectively within our proposal team;
- Lead and support projects related to the continuous improvement and optimization of our tools, content and processes;
- Develop and/or update training tools and resources for the proposal team;
Other responsibilities
- Provide proposal process training and development to new employees;
- Provide feedback and guidance on customer communications in French;
- Provide support and feedback, as required, on other important writing tasks essential to marketing and business development;
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or related field;
- At least five years of relevant professional experience, ideally two years in a large professional services organization (finance, engineering, law firm, etc.);
- legal experience (required);
- Strong interpersonal skills, tact and discretion;
- Fully bilingual (French and English) in oral and written communication;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize difficult deadlines;
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a systematic and logical manner, with great attention to detail;
- Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment;
- Exceptional attention to detail in drafting, editing and budgeting;
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable;
