Responsibilities
In this Bookkeeper role in Richmond Hill, you will be responsible for the following:
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Process and record financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance team to facilitate smooth month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Payroll Management:
- Manage payroll for approximately 200+ employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Calculate and record payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
- Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Reconciliation:
- Perform regular reconciliation of financial accounts, including bank accounts, payroll accounts, and general ledger entries.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly and effectively.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements, providing insights to management.
- Assist in the year-end financial audit process by providing documentation and explanations as required.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline and enhance reconciliation processes.
Qualifications
We are looking for the following experience for this Bookkeeper position in Richmond Hill:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in payroll management and reconciliation, with a minimum of 5 in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
