Working as part of a project drafting/design team to produce, maintain, and support the overall effort for the development and approval of Shop/Fabrication Drawings for Heat Transfer Coil Manufacturing and Coating Applications.

You will have all the necessary skills and training to draft approval and manufacturing drawings for all coil products manufactured by the company. As a key member of the engineering/design team, they will assist in interpreting the customers’ requirements to translate them into highly detailed drawings that capture all the elements required to gain the customers’ approval and for our manufacturing team to fabricate and build the highest quality heat transfer coils.

Responsibilities
Take part in Design Meetings to discuss and collect information (Scope of Work) for implementation into New Projects.
Review with the Project Team and Senior Design Technologist the overall scope of work and list all materials (Bills of Materials) and Labour Routings with accompanying attachments.
Clarify all information needed to start CAD Drawings and fill in Project Information Data Fields with all the info above. These Review Meetings, both formal and informal, will be ongoing as projects develop and move forward.
Develop Shop Drawings utilizing all information attained from the Project Information documents and quotations.
Review Shop Drawings with appropriate Project Team Members, particularly the Senior Design Technologist and/or the Business Development Coordinator.
Attend to Shop Drawings when returned via the Customer Approval Process. If Reviewed (Approved) or Review As Noted proceed with Construction Drawings, if Resubmit is noted by the customer, make appropriate changes and resubmit until approved.
Create drawings for construction by using Quotation/Approval Drawings, if site measurements are available, include them in Construction/Shop Drawings.
Work within the digital environment developed and used by the Company including the use of our ERP/MRP system, Teams communication network, drafting software including CCSI and Solidworks, etc.
Qualifications
Ability to work efficiently as an individual and within a close team environment.
Digitally and mechanically inclined.
Experience with a light metal manufacturing environment is desirable.
Experience following quality processes and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Must be flexible with working hours as schedule dictates. Working overtime and weekends is a requirement as required.
Experience with ERP/MRP business software systems an asset
Experience with Solidworks 3-D software an asset
Experience with metal fabrication software is an asset
Must provide proof of graduation with O.S.S.D.G.
College diploma as a mechanical technician
