CAD Technologist

communication. Reporting to Project Coordinators and working under the guidance of Project Managers, the CADD Technologist works as an integral member of the Stone Division delivering high quality cladding solutions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create detailed 2D or 3D shop drawings, shop tickets, connection details, and hardware BOM’s for fabrication in an efficient manner using various technical software.

• Generate detailed bills of material as required for release of new projects to manufacturing.

• Responsible for the quality checking and accuracy of all project deliverables prepared by themselves or those prepared by their peers.

• Ability to read contract documents including architectural drawings, specifications, design details, shop drawings, structural drawings, etc.

• Develop solutions and effectively communicate ideas through drawings, sketches, models, verbal and written means.

• Preparation of precise 3D models of varying complexities.

• Project coordination and consideration of integrated systems and details.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Architectural and/or Technology related Degree/Diploma or equivalent and applicable experience.

• Minimum 3 years of verifiable drafting experience, using AutoCAD, Revit and/or Inventor (BIM) for project delivery.

Specific construction cladding industry and/or Architecture for Manufacturing experience is preferred.

• Proficient with latest release of AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and/or Inventor is required, Catia an asset.

• Understanding of engineering documents, drafting, and AutoCAD, with the skill level to utilize timesaving techniques and demonstrate advanced ability.

• Fundamental knowledge of the engineering design principles, building construction and design processes are required.

• Ability to visualize and communicate solutions to highly complex geometry problems or conditions related to construction with a keen ability to produce hand & digital sketches.

• Ability to integrate project information, specifications, and requirements into drawings and BIM models seamlessly and efficiently.

• Ability to identify problems in drawings, investigate and markup discrepancies.

• Ability to check and revise drawings, prioritize tasks, manage time, and multi-task.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Strong attention to detail with a desire to provide excellent customer service and quality deliverables.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a team player.

• Aptitude and motivated to grow skill level and knowledge beyond assigned tasks and role.

• Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environment
