The role of the Technical Service Engineer entails addressing incoming inquiries and requests related to technical support, parts, service, warranty matters, and customer complaints in relation to various equipment. The incumbent will take full responsibility for addressing and resolving issues promptly and to the satisfaction of the customer. The role might require availability for after-hours customer support when needed.

Responsibilities
Execute engineering goals as directed by the Director of Engineering and contribute insights to long-range product development plans.
Implement controls engineering standards.
Manage workflow scheduling for the controls engineering group.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate interpretation of schematics, bills of materials, and control logic.
Advise the Director of Engineering if project targets are at risk.
Assist in the development of project plans, budgets, and schedules that meet business requirements.
Provide technical and product support for Service, Quality Assurance, Production, and Purchasing.
Adhere to the company's Project Management Procedure as outlined in the Quality System.
Supervise all aspects of project management and technical content related to control systems, encompassing programming panels and system controls.
Oversee equipment testing to validate performance expectations.
Ensure the achievement of targets for scope control, function, budget, cost, schedule, and timing in the electrical and controls aspects of projects.
Contribute to the creation, upkeep, and enhancement of control engineering procedures and processes.
Prepare engineering documentation, drawings, schematics, BOMs, ECNs, and portions of product manuals pertaining to electrical and control systems.
Utilize CAD skills to create sales proposal drawings incorporating electrical components and schematics.
Calculate system power requirements.
Supervise assigned projects and provide support to sales, service, quality assurance, production, and other engineering projects.
Propose and lead initiatives for cost improvement.
Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to formulate departmental budgets and staffing requirements.
Qualifications
Education: Hold an Engineering Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. Having P.Eng eligibility and a Professional Project Management Certificate would be beneficial.
Experience: Possess 8-10 years of industry experience, including expertise in electrical system concept, design, PLC programming, and strong project management skills.
Exhibit solid knowledge of North American and European Safety Codes.
Demonstrate proficiency in 2D Drafting software (AutoCAD/Draft Sight). Knowledge of electrical-based software such as SolidWorks Electrical/AutoCAD Electrical is an advantage.
Showcase expertise in PLC programming (Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens), with familiarity in Danfoss Plus+1/structured text programming.
Have familiarity with Epicor/MRP and the MS Office suite.
Display effective communication skills for interactions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Be willing to travel to customer sites for project commissioning as required.
