Cutting Machine Programmer Position

Our partner is a leader in the stainless steel distribution industry, offering personalized one-stop-shop service with uncompromising quality and value to customers across Canada. With three locations in Ontario, Alberta, and Quebec, the company has specialized since 1984 in providing customized services such as laser and plasma cutting, shearing, bar edging, sawing, and SPV coating.
We are looking for a programmer who will be responsible for receiving orders from our clients and configuring the parameters in our Sigmanest CAD/CAM software.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a cutting machine programmer:
Interpret and analyze technical drawings and client specifications to ensure parts meet requirements. Import and convert CAD files (such as DXF, DWG) into Sigmanest.
Pull inventory according to order specifications.
Use Sigmanest to create precise cutting programs for stainless steel parts.
Optimize cutting paths to minimize material waste and maximize production efficiency.
Document cutting processes and programs for future reference and to ensure traceability of parts.
Communicate design changes or technical issues to relevant parties to ensure smooth and error-free production
Qualifications
Degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, metallurgy, or a related field.
Specific training in CNC machine programming and the use of CAD/CAM software, particularly Sigmanest.
Prior experience in programming cutting machines (laser, plasma, waterjet, etc.), especially for materials such as stainless steel.
Experience with CAD/CAM software, ideally Sigmanest, but also AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other design software.
In-depth knowledge of material properties, especially stainless steel, and cutting techniques.
Bilingualism is an asset
