Responsibilities
•Effectively utilize test equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, temperature and pressure calibrators and proprietary software.
•Assemble and test products (eg. downhole probes, data loggers, and motor controllers)
•Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair company and client-owned equipment.
•Perform pressure and temperature calibrations using automated calibration lab.
•Review and analyze calibration and other data related to sensor performance.
•Read and interpret wiring and circuit schematics.
•Maintain and update technical documentation.
•Assist with incoming inspection and acceptance testing of electronic parts. (eg. circuit board assemblies, commercially procured equipment)
•Support other areas of the business with tasks as assigned
Qualifications
•Post-secondary education in Electronics required.
•5+ years’ experience working as an Electronics Technologist required.
•Strong grasp of fundamental digital electronics principles required.
•Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills required.
•Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools and small power tools required.
•Proficient with hand soldering (eg. through-hole and SMD)
•Understand instrumentation principles related to pressure and temperature measurement.
•Background in and understanding of the principles of Metrology an asset.
•Familiarity with Labview software would be an asset.
•Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office required
•Hands-on experience in a Production or Manufacturing environment is preferred.
•Must be self-motivated and productive working both independently and collaboratively.
•Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time and adhere to project schedules.
