Responsibilities
•Create custom design, prepare assembly and individual part drawings in 3D with Solidworks proficiency in sheet metal for manufacturing using the following machine equipment: Laser cutting machine and CNC Punch Press machine.
•Proficient with 3D drawings, blueprints, construction plans and other customer documentation related to sheet metal scope of work, supplied by customer
•Program approved drawings using Actcut software
•Provide bill of materials, flat drawings and work orders necessary to complete projects
•Collaborate with shop floor manufacturing employees on technical issues, procedures or limitations affecting parts and/or product design
•Identify process deficiencies and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies
•As a team player foster verbal and written communication to improve the company effectiveness with production timelines
•Organize and maintain electronic design/project files
•Apply impeccable attention to detail
•Evaluate product designs to determine manufacturing feasibility
•Assist in determining the most economical manufacturing process, methods and sequences required for efficient flow of work for new or existing products
•R&D of new products and quality control and inspections
•Assist sales with design submittals and marketing company products
•Use time management and prioritization skills to understand and meet customer deadlines and commitment dates
•Apply communication skills in a clear and professional manner when corresponding with customers on drawings and or related requirements
•Access and identify shop health and safety protocols and practices providing recommendations to avoid potential hazards as per company guidelines
•Other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications
• Previously experience in metal fabrication is an asset
• Solidworks proficiency
