Responsibilities
Carry out various automation-related assignments as delegated, which encompass generating I/O lists, instrumentation lists, and delineating specifications for instrumentation and control components.
Formulate control specifications and foster collaboration with suppliers for the installation and commissioning of control systems in chemical processing lines.
Verify equipment and processes before their induction into production, extending support during the production scaling phase and facilitating the transition of operations to the current model engineering team.
Configure, calibrate, and establish process instrumentation and control systems.
Sustain a repository of spare components and parts, ensuring swift repairs and stock replenishment for routine maintenance.
Create, evaluate, and commission PLC/SCADA applications, executing Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.
Define electrical elements, including motors, VFDs, pumps, etc., based on specific application requisites.
Delineate process instrumentation specifications, encompassing flowmeters, pressure transmitters, and level sensors, while also programming them for seamless integration with PLC systems.
Generate electrical schematics, panel drawings, and PLC logic configurations for new applications and updates to existing systems.
Undertake the installation, debugging, initiation, and continuous enhancement of plant equipment.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Training & Experience:
Possess a background of 5 to 10 years in engineering, with a specialization in Instrumentation and Control (I&C) engineering.
Previous experience working on-site is a valuable asset.
Familiarity with high-voltage systems is advantageous.
Proficiency in utilizing digital tools, digitization, and data acquisition methods is highly beneficial.
Demonstrated expertise in managing Instrumentation & Control deliverables, encompassing P&ID's, Loop Drawings, Wiring Drawings, Motor Control Schematics, Instrument Location Drawings, Instrument Installation Details, Instrument Specifications (Datasheets), I/O Lists, Bill of Materials, Conduit/Tray/Cable Schedules, and Control Narratives.
Familiarity with Canadian electrical codes and adherence to relevant standards.
Additional expertise in AutoCAD Electrical is an added advantage.
