Randstad has a very established and reputable client in Toronto who is seeking a security systems installation and repair technician to join their growing team.
We are looking for candidates who bring 3+ years of experience installing and servicing the aforementioned multi-dwelling unit access panels, automatic door systems, intercoms, CCTV systems, smart home systems, telecommunications network systems, or even some basic IT experience doing things like desktop computer installation or basic data recovery.
Successful candidates would be in decent physical condition, as the position will involve work where bending, kneeling, crawling, lifting, pulling, carrying, and standing for extended periods of time is required. Work is completed both indoors and outdoors, so applicants must be used to (or willing to) spending some of their time working in the Canadian elements year round. Some examples of work sites that will have outdoor exposure are the outdoor areas of residential and commercial buildings and parking structures. Lots of work occurs indoors as well, in condo building lobbies, inside commercial facilities, and even inside residential single-family homes on occasion.
** IMPORTANT ** Company has a number of new fleet vehicles ordered, but due to supply-chain issues, are expecting a 3-6 month delay in fulfillment of the order. Because of this, new employees must be willing to use their own personal vehicle for work purposes until the new company vehicles are available. The company will compensate for all mileage and is committed to switching the employee to a fleet vehicle as soon as possible!!
Candidates MUST have a valid G class license, a clean drivers abstract, and be able to pass a background check.

$22-26 per hour for a junior-level technician
$26-32 per hour for a mid-level technician
Mileage paid in addition to hourly rate for the 3-6 months where the employee is utilizing their own vehicle for work
Shift:
8:30AM - 5:00PM Monday to Friday (expectation of one week of on-call work every eight weeks - paid for a minimum of 3 hours for every on-call job, even if it only takes an hour)

Responsibilities
• Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of:
➡ Access control panels (fob/card reader entry for multi-dwelling units and office buildings)
➡ Telephone entry systems/intercoms
➡ Automatic door operation systems
➡ Elevator security components
➡ CCTV systems
➡ Basic level IT services such as desktop computer set-up and basic data recovery (experience with this an asset but not concrete requirement)
• Providing excellent customer service while working on client sites
• Servicing systems indoors and outdoors in a variety of different environments
• Loading and maintaining tools and equipment
• Monitoring and documenting inventory levels
• Following all directions from Senior Technicians and Managers
• Driving to and from job sites around the GTA
• Recording any issues or concerns regarding the vehicle fleet and reporting to management
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience or more in a security systems or telecommunications technician role
• Must have knowledge of, and experience with low voltage system install and repair
• Must have experience using hand and power tools
• Must be in acceptable physical condition to be able to perform required tasks (such as pulling conduit, lifting components up to 50lbs, bending, crawling, etc)
• Should have experience with, and be comfortable working in all elements - projects can be outside or in underground parking garages
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• MUST possess a valid G-class driver's license with a clean drivers abstract
• Experience navigating GTA roadways an asset
