Responsibilities
Sets up and maintains mailing lists address and postal code files using a Personal Computer (PC) and related software or PC based word processing, data base or other application software; advises clients of the most efficient and cost effective mail-out method and cost; orders hard copy mailing labels or arranges for address file downloads, and operates a mailing labeling machine or direct access printer to label or address envelopes; operates a folding/envelope stuffing machine; prepares requisitions for mail-outs; and schedules, packs and arranges for shipping of mail-outs.
* Receives, records and advises addressees of registered mail; maintains mailout project records and files; performs minor maintenance/adjustments and cleans addressing related machines; and occasionally manually affixes address labels for low volume or special mail-outs.
* Sorts, weighs and determines postage, special treatment, courier needs etc. for out-bound mail; prepares waybills for courier services and related tracking records; prepares waybills, mail and packages for registration; and completes and maintains tracking and other records.
* Operates postage meter, envelope sealing and parcel wrapping machines etc. to affix postage to envelopes and package envelopes, parcels etc.; loads mail/parcels for delivery; maintains and makes minor adjustments to postage meter and other mail related machines; monitors postage meter balance and advises Mailing Services Work Leader or manager where replenishment is required; maintains and records postage costs and related cross charging records; and reconciles meter and monthly usage amounts.
* Types and prints address labels using a PC and related postal code lookup and label production.
Qualifications
Must haves:
- High school graduation
- Attention to detail and be able to work independently.
- Ability to set up and prepare mailing lists as well as prepare reports and postage reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability operate a PC, related application software programs (such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access)
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to answer queries regarding mail-out methods.
• Physical ability and mobility to lift and move mail, parcels and mailing containers, packing cribs, etc.
