Materials Planning & Purchasing Manager is responsible for scheduling and forecasting the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business. Also is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. They ensure clear requirements, forecast market trends, mitigate risks, and collaborate with stakeholders. Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills are required. Ensure we have product available to deliver to customers on time and in full.

Responsibilities
• Managerial responsibility for all the supply chain functions from the front of the line to the shipping.
• Ensuring the delivery of value-added service to the business;
• Apply a right approach and tool to manage the stock of material according to the budget assumptions;
• Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst optimizing costs
• Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production
• Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place
• Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies, monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices;
• Take lead on internal and external relationships to ensure consistent, timely and effective communication regarding material availability
• Identifying and minimizing risk by predicting the demand for products and adopting new technology with no interruption to the process
• Responsible for demand planning and recommendations for future capital expenditure requirements
• Manage and develop annualized cost savings initiatives.
• Development of product and material forecasting according to the needs of the business.
• Responsible for production planning.
• Collaboration with all areas of the business to ensure seamless communication across functional areas of the business.
Qualifications
Essential:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within material planning and purchasing management in consumer goods industry
• Supply chain professional with distinctive knowledge of planning supply chain pipeline, purchasing with procurement
• Strategist with a high degree of creativity and knowledge adaptability
• Experience in working within the international field
• Experience in fast-paced industry
• Managerial and co-ordinational experience
Desirable:
• Aluminum/Metal industry experience
• Packaging industry experience
• Food Packaging Experience
• SAP experience // AS400
