Advantages

- Salary 52-60k

- 35 hour work week, overtime / afterhours required
- Pay is bi weekly
- Bonus is paid based on profitability and performance – 10%
- 2 weeks vacation + 5 sick days + 5 unpaid personal days a year + 1 extra paid day per year
Responsibilities
• Arrange Ocean transportation and facilitate the movement of goods based on customer demands.
• Ensure accuracy on shipments and minimize risk of delay
• Provide and track quotations of services to our customers
• Advise clients on transportation and payment methods, including the issuance of freight bills and invoices to brokers and/or customer. Including proper record retention and filing of documentation
• Filing of invoices, orders, PODs, and collect payments for the same
• Track and trace vendor orders and report any anomalies
• Collect, audit and accurately enter carrier qualification information
• Arrange “white glove” services for customers, ensuring proper unpacking, packing, transportation of sensitive equipment
• Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines and/or bonded facilities
• Reconcile/balance customer accounts and ledgers by collection and analyzing account information
• Prompt and accurate communication with customers, external branches and sub-contractors
• Light warehouse duty, such as moving pallets with pallet jack, and small boxes when required
• Various other duties as may be required
Qualifications
• Experience in 3PL, load brokering operations or dispatch operations (an asset)
• TDG / Dangerous goods certification is required
• General knowledge of the freight forwarding NVOCC environment
• Ability to provide quality service for our customers by understanding their needs and requirements
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Strong time management; able to prioritize tasks
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word
