Reporting to the Boiler Supervisor, the Steam Plant 2nd Class Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in relation to the steam plant. See below for a complete list of responsibilities and qualifications, and apply today to join our team!
Role & Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks related to the safe and efficient operation of the steam plant including routine inspection, testing, repairs and maintenance
• Documents steam production and consumption, gas consumption, water and hydro readings
• Inspects and operates HVAC systems
• Performs water analysis on boilers and maintains and monitors water treatment
• Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems and preventative maintenance programs
• Supports divisional and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, waste and 5S
Qualifications
• 2 years of work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• 2ND Class Operating Engineer certificate (or 3rd class, close to advancement will also be considered)
• Ability to approach problems logically, under pressure and seek innovative solutions
• Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and possesses a strong safety focus
• Proficiency in DCS preferred
• Available and flexible to work all shifts including overtime
