We are seeking an Operations Manager to be accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Terrace, BC branch office.
Full list of duties are as follows:
-Supervision of Technical Staff.
-Management of up to 2-3 staff, including monitoring of personnel, and staffing levels.
-Mentoring & training of technical staff.

-Review of timesheets for accuracy, etc.
-Liaising with new and existing clients:
-Business development including but not limited to meeting with potential and existing clients for sales, cold calls, and follow up on leads (i.e. BC Bid, hearsay, etc.).
-Preparation of proposals for materials testing projects of varying magnitude and scope. Includes discussion with client, review of project specifications and approach.
-Attend site meetings.
Technical Duties:
-Materials testing/construction project management, mainly concrete (air, slump and temperature, cylinders and soils (compaction testing).
-Conduct site inspections (proof-rolls, trouble-shooting, etc.).
-Assist in solving technical issues in the field and laboratory.
-Senior review of materials testing reports.
-Review plans and specifications related to the planned construction activities.
-Monitor project site documentation to ensure work and materials are in compliance with the project specifications and appropriate testing methodology.
-Ensure compliance with pre-work site inspection safety requirements.
Administrative Tasks:
-AP/AR review for materials projects.
-Monitoring operational expenses and where able to minimize operational expenses and Client liaison regarding projects, queries about testing and specifications, contract negotiations, complaints, and safety concerns.
-Dispatch for field testing and review: confirm location, scope, specifications, pre-work site safety requirements and provide to field staff to complete.
-Notify project manager of testing requested for tracking purposes and safety.
-Ensure contract documents are accurate and complete.
-Ensure efficient operations of the Laboratory.
