We are currently looking for individuals to join our client, one of Canada's largest insurance and financial services companies, as a Finance Director.
Flexibility for 100% remote or hybrid role.

Responsibilities
As a Finance Director, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
•Developing strategy and sets direction for the business portfolio and influences broadly.
•Acting as a role model. Mentoring and developing less experienced peers.
•Providing thought leadership for the business portfolio.
•Driving and helping implement digital transformation changes.
•Driving best practices, enforcing the highest standards.
•Defining lead and influence the business portfolio strategy
•Participating in Annual Strategic and Business Planning processes including
•Leading the development of business portfolio guidelines and standards which include defining the guardrails to optimize cost performance
•Leading business portfolio financial cost modeling which include the cost and revenue models as well as the forecasts and budget review processes
•Being responsible for the oversight and management of the Chief Technology Office portfolio’s operating budget and chargebacks to clients
•Monitoring financial performance during month-end, quarter-end, year-end activities.
•Presenting business reviews to senior management
•Forecasting costs to business application owners to support budgeting process
•Reporting on project costs.
•Driving successful implementation on product cost tracking and status reporting on initiatives.
•Identifying and leveraging cost optimization opportunities.
•Being responsible for the oversight of On-Prem and Cloud related enterprise-wide contracts
Qualifications
•Progressive experience within the financial management functions (7-10 years)
•Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent relevant business experience
•Proven experience in expense management, cost accounting, activity based costing, and financial modelling
•Familiar with / basic knowledge of cost recovery / chargeback models.
•Experience working with Oracle Financials and Hyperion Planning would be an asset
•Ability to manage multiple and often conflicting timelines
•Ability to operate in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams
•Customer focused with an attitude to deliver excellent customer outcomes
•Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
•Ability to take "ownership" with high sense of urgency and work like an "entrepreneur"
•Problem solving, analytics and resolution skills
•Exceptional and effective verbal & written communication skills
•Strong collaboration and influencing skills required to help drive management actions based on insights observed
•Hyperion Essbase, SAP, Tableau (read access, not developer access), Microsoft products (Excel, Powerpoint, etc) experience is needed
