Our client, a top 5 bank, is looking for an Operations Officer for a 6 month contract in Toronto. This is hybrid role - 2 days per month (Candidate within GTA/ Must be willing to commute). There is possibility of contract extension and conversion depending on availability.
Pay rate: $25.00/hr
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Responsibilities
As an Operations Officer, your duties will include but not limited to:
•Providing a broad range of operational support
•Performing general to specialized transactions and/or other processing activities for own Operations and Business Services function.
•Executing transactions accurately, on time and in line with established guidelines/procedures while adhering to formal or informal Service Level Agreement(s) (SLAs).
•Referring or escalating processing or operational issues as needed
•Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.
•Supporting partners with incoming transactions, validating information as needed to perform adjustments within authority levels.
•Interacting with partners by responding to requests in an effective and timely manner.
•Prioritizing and managing own workload to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements for service and productivity.
•Understanding internal and industry regulations and trends
•Reviewing actively internal processes/activities and provide ideas for process improvement.
•Adhering to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to operations activities for own area.
•Being knowledgeable of and comply with Bank Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
•2+ years’ operations experience within banking/financial industry
•Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle high volumes of work.
•Excellent quantitative and analytical skills/problem solving skills
•Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
•Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
•Ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures.
•Attention to detail is crucial
•Understanding of MM and FX Products (eg. Options, Foreign Exchange spots and forwards, Money Market deposits and loans).
•Knowledge asset and securities
•Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, proficiency in Excel is a must, coupled with the ability to learn and apply skills to new software programs.
•Programming experience – VBA and Python – 1years
Nice to have:
•Knowledge of Global and Wealth Shared Services platforms would be an asset.
•Experience in a Trade Processing related role, preferably experience with cash products (such as Loans, Deposits, Swaps and Forwards)
