The Randstad Healthcare team is currently supporting one of our non-retail pharmacy clients, with a facility located in Richmond Hill, in their search for a Team Leader. In this setting you will lead and work alongside a team of 20-25 people including registered pharmacists, pharmacy technicians (RPhTs) and pharmacy assistants. You will manage the team (including employee scheduling, training, development, engagement, conflict resolution, productivity supervision, etc.) to support the timely and accurate distribution of prescriptions to retail pharmacy outlets (and indirectly to patients). Responsibilities
• As a Supervisor in this non-retail pharmacy setting, you will oversee and assist pharmacy team members in processing prescriptions in a timely and accurate manner, in addition to other technical tasks. You will be accountable for team engagement, scheduling and other people-related tasks.
• In addition to the day-to-day leadership responsibilities, you will also have some responsibilities related to administrative and training oversight for the team. You will be accountable for ensuring timely delivery and efficient team operations.
• You will be trained on company-specific processes and will be responsible for ensuring that the utmost care is taken in the storage, dispensing, and delivery of prescriptions to patients.
• You will work with the team and leverage your passion for patient care to produce prescriptions, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with standards and regulatory requirements, within your scope.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate possesses at least 1 year of continuous leadership experience of a team of 7-10 or more people (i.e. Team lead, Supervisor) in a high-volume production-oriented setting, ideally from pharmacy or a related environment where quality is critical (as patients are consuming the medications)
- Prior experience leading a team of varied profiles is ideal as this leader will manage healthcare professionals as well as support staff
- Strong written and verbal communication and computer skills are required
- Positive outlook with a strong work ethic required
- Deadline-oriented and strong prioritization skills a must
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts during weekdays (either steady days or steady afternoons) and open to help out on the occasional weekend if the business requires (with time off in lieu)
