Responsibilities
- Respond to customers requests for quotes in a timely manner
- Responsible for all relations regarding carriers for the brokerage division
- Provide monthly carrier performance reports for management
- Ensure carriers comply with company expectations
- Prospect carriers and negotiate rates to cost save
- Support operations and sales by providing timely rates based on factors such as ancillary costs, fuel costs, volume and potential round trips.
- Analyze existing freight rates and rate regulations to revise or recommend changes in rate structures, rules and regulations for freight carriers
- Analyze proposals and requests for changes in tariffs, rules or regulations, and newly approved tariff changes
- Coordinate bids/tenders to ensure all required information is provided and deadlines are met
- Liaise with operations so that tariffs can be communicated to customers and internal clients
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in pricing, carrier sales, transportation or logistics required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to negotiate, motivate and influence others.
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
