Job Title: Production Engineering Automation Specialist
Location - Stratford, ON
Reports to: Group Leader, Production Engineering

Responsibilities
1.Programming of PLCs (Mistubishi, Allen Bradly, Pilz etc.) and Robots (Yaskawa, Fanuc, Kawasaki etc.)
2.Design and develop Control systems using PLC, HMI and Robotic Programs for creating solutions as required during new equipment commissioning and modifications, ECI’s (Engineering Change Instructions).
3.Simulate, test and debug machine control systems in house to implement countermeasures to Safety, Quality and Production issues.
4.Review and coordinate modification of safety control systems as needed to comply with PSHSR process.
5.Ability to troubleshoot, countermeasure/modify control systems including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, updating of applicable drawings. Hands on work will be required.
6.Develop and write specifications for equipment modifications, engineering changes and commissioning. Obtaining supplier quotes, writing purchase orders and supplier contracts.
7.Direct contractors and tradespeople as necessary in performing related work.
8.Coordinates equipment commissioning trials, problem follow-up documents (PFS), and status updates.
9.Support and coordinate equipment modification/installation schedules.
10.Developing and training of Futaba control specifications/standards for, local, internal commissioning and equipment procurement commonality.
11.Responsible for coordinating new/modified equipment spare parts, engineering documentation and equipment audits.
12.Coordinate and support equipment modifications and efficiency improvements, utilizing internal and contractor resources.
13.Utilize engineering practices and principles to optimize process parameters including, cycle time reduction, line balancing, error proofing and other tools of lean manufacturing.
14.Observe internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify and initiate opportunities for process improvement.
15.Provides guidance/directs maintenance team members as required during projects or during major repairs.
16.Produces drawings and documents for various projects using AutoCAD.
17.Auditing, modifying equipment parameters are matching documented values.
18.Development and support of service parts processes, including support to production during the building stage.
19.Responsible for preparation of cost reduction proposals on production and maintenance spare parts and production consumables.
20.Demonstrate an understanding of company's Environmental Policy and participate in programs that enhance environmental performance.
21.Demonstrate an understanding of the significant environmental impacts of your work activities; follow work instructions to ensure positive environmental performance is sustained. Understand the consequences of delineating from them.
22.Demonstrate an understanding of the EPRP (Emergency Preparedness Response Plan).
Qualifications
•Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics or Robotics & Automation with 5-8 years of experience previous manufacturing engineering experience in an automotive robotic welding/stamping manufacturing environment.
•Experience in equipment electrical design including safety and pneumatic design.
•Deep understanding of PSR reviews and CSA code an asset.
•Comprehensive experience programing with Mitsubishi PLC’s, teaching of Yaskawa, Fanuc and Kawasaki Robots.
•Experience with heavy stamping presses and peripheral equipment an asset.
•Experience with Laser Cutting (programming and background) an asset.
•Must be highly organized and motivated with strong initiative.
•Excellent project management skills.
•Strong communication skills including written and verbal.
•Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD.
•Sound judgment in decision making and establishing priorities.
•Proactive and oriented to make improvements in systems and procedures.
•Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork, ability to support overtime as required.
