THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION - DIRECT HIRE FROM DAY ONE!
Client operates a UNIONIZED environment, which means pay rate progression, benefits packages, internal promotions, and PENSION, all sit at INCREDIBLY desirable levels!!!
**This role requires a candidate who has flexibility in their schedule, as this position ROTATES ALL THREE SHIFTS. However, this is NOT a 12 hour continental**
The schedule runs as days, afternoons, and overnights on a rotational basis.
Shifts are 8 hours running 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am.
Rate of pay for this role STARTS at $20.26, BUT THEN INCREASES THREE TIMES OVER THE FIRST YEAR.
• At the three month mark, pay increases to $23.58
• At the six month mark, pay increases to $25.70
• At the one year mark, pay increases to $28.24

Responsibilities
⦾ Operate within a three man team working in tandem to run a very large printing press
⦿ 20% of the time spent operating the Clamp Truck moving 3000lb rolls of paper (retrieve from storage area, load and unload onto press, stage in shipping area)
⦿ 80% of the time spent assisting the other members of the team with "press changeovers" - this work is highly physical and requires the ability to:
➡ regularly climb staircases
➡ bend and crouch for extended periods (up to 10 mins at a time)
➡ reach into tight spaces with arms outstretched for prolonged periods (cleaning ink components)
➡ grip tightly with hands and fingers
➡ use arms and hands to firmly and repeatedly scrub ink from various parts of the press (**NOTE - ALL INKS ARE NON-TOXIC AND WATER SOLUABLE**)
➡ stand and walk for the duration of each shift
➡ perform additional reasonable physical movements above and beyond what is listed above
⦾ Completing press changeover activities such as:
➡ Changing large printing plate cylinders using material handling equipment and manual operation
➡ Assisting in "wash-up" of ink bays and printing plates for each new print run (**ALL INKS ARE NON-TOXIC AND WATER SOLUABLE - NO IMPACT ON YOUR HEALTH**)
➡ Accessing printing press components to clean or change out through narrow access and/or confined space areas
⦾ Completion of mandatory pre-shift press and vehicle inspection
⦾ Performing manual set-up of paper rolls in the press unwind area (attaching the beginning of each roll of paper to run through the press)
⦾ Ensure all directions from team members and management are followed with utmost accuracy
⦾ Filling in for coworkers on other presses for breaks or other on-shift absences as required
⦾ Following all health and safety procedures and protocols and reporting any hazards or infractions to supervisors
⦾ Providing support for the two other press team members should any of their tasks occasionally require additional assistance
⦾ Complete any required shift reports and documents
Qualifications
⦾ MUST have a clear criminal record
⦾ 3+ years' experience working in fast-paced industrial manufacturing/production environments
⦾ 1+ years' experience operating Propane Counterbalance Forklifts - MUST HAVE A VALID EXTERNAL FORKLIFT LICENSE
⦾ Must have the flexibility to work all three rotating shifts
⦾ Must have flexibility in schedule to allow for occasional overtime when/if large projects require longer hours
