We are currently hiring for a Purchasing Coordinator in Hamilton for an industrial filter manufacturer. The ideal candidate will come from 3-5 years experience in inventory, purchasing or a related role ideally within the manufacturing sector. Please note, this position requires exceptional math skills for costing, calculating quantities and usage, counting as well as reconciling discrepancies. In this role, you will work closely with the Production Manager, leadership team and shipping and receiving to ensure all inventory levels are accurate and available for production.

Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain current inventory levels within a busy manufacturing ERP system (sage 300)
- Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and availability for production
- Developing and maintaining production builds of material for various custom orders
- Working with Production Manager, Supervisors, Management and Receiving
- Receive and verify incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality
- Reconcile inventory quantities and costing differences in system and cost sheets
- Process transfers between departments and processing companies
- Ability to assemble orders, verify usages, costing and unit of measures
- Create and verify inventory requirements based on usage and lead times
- Process requisitions, maintain supplier database and source new
- Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Assist with the implementation of inventory control procedures
- Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and trends
- Assist in developing new and improving on existing control procedures
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient with quick and accurate numerical conversions (Eg. Imperial to Metric)
- Proficient in using inventory management software, SAP, and MRP
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional math skills for costing, calculating quantities and usage, counting and reconciling discrepancies
- Self-motivated, with high energy and enthusiasm to achieve goals
- Proven track record and in-depth knowledge of inventory, supply chains, control and processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience or knowledge of the filtration industry is an asset
