As a Recovery Officer you will be responsible for collection of claims that have been paid out for tax arrears, utility arrears and liens that were registered against title. You will also be responsible for administering any claims that are being sent to a third party collection agency and ensure that the company's standard is being met. Organizational skills, high level of emotional intelligence, attention to detail and a strong work ethic is required for this role. A strong working knowledge of recovery processes is required along with the ability to understand sensitive relationships with valued customers.

Responsibilities
HERE’S HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:
Prepare recovery letters that are to be sent to vendors on tax/utility claims that are paid out
Correspond and communicate with the collection agency who will assist with collections
Promptly respond to voicemail and correspondence received from debtors
Communicate with tax/utility claims handler as required for clarification and process improvement opportunities
Negotiate where applicable amounts owing or payment plans
Posting payments in systems as required
Qualifications
Ability to handle difficult situations while remaining calm
Attention to detail and highly organized
Positive attitude when interacting with team members
3+ years of experience in a collection related role.
Completion of High School, Post Secondary education in business or legal is an asset
Ability to think outside of the box and offer suggestions for process improvements
