Responsibilities
- Provides Operational and Project management on large scale, complex, high profile and high risk projects for OPS I&IT initiatives.
- Ensures project deliverables meet clients’ business requirements on time, scope and budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with OPS project management methodologies and frameworks.
- Manage platform technology team(s) to ensure operational status for UAT and Prod infrastructure environments, technology evergreening initiatives (i.e Oracle, migration to Cloud)
-Leads organizational development, strategy development, business planning, and Ministry funding requests.
- Gathers and develops requirements in order to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
- Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed.
- Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.
- Establishes and participates in steering committee and stakeholder forums
- Provides, project, program, and/or portfolio reporting to multi-stakeholders at senior executive levels.
- Uses appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects – concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out.
- Promotes OPS I&IT standards and best practices for project management to facilitate control of system quality, adherence to standard methodology and the control of the use of I&IT resources.
Qualifications
- Expertise in applying project management theory, methodologies and techniques to provide overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects ensuring consistency with enterprise mandate, objectives and strategies.
- Knowledge of issues management, communication and change management principles to assist clients and stakeholders with change management activities.
- Leadership skills to set direction and manage projects, activities and team members throughout the different project phases towards successful completion.
- Well developed organization and planning skills to manage a number of complex and concurrent issues while continuing to deliver results.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate project vision, facilitate discussions/negotiations, prepare written briefings, presentations and other project related materials.
- Ability to identify conflict between project and functional areas and develops responses to successfully address conflict
- Ability to handle client relationships to manage expectations, provides updates as required, identifies potential conflicts between project and functional areas
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate project vision, facilitate discussions/negotiations, prepare written briefings, presentations and other project related materials.
- Negotiation skills to influence others and find collaborative solutions to complex high-profile issues.
- Ability to build relationships to oversee cross-organizational consultation processes that involve internal and external stakeholders and consultation and collaboration skills to cultivate effective relationships, influence change and bring initiatives to successful conclusion.
- Emotionally intelligent communicator who can engage in tough conversations while remaining calm and unbiased.
- Strong analytical and conceptualization skills to deliver , combined with proven skills and experience in change management, project management and issues management.
- Research and problem solving skills to scan the organizational environment, analyze data, identify and assess emerging trends and develop options to strategically manage complex issues and files.
- Ability to think holistically and horizontally about business problems and opportunities and ensure strategic alignment between cross-functional programs/activities.
- Leadership skills to set direction and manage projects, activities and team members throughout the different project phases towards successful completion.
- Well developed organization and planning skills to manage a number of complex and concurrent issues while continuing to deliver results.
- Knowledge of project management and in-depth knowledge of task estimation, scheduling and control to prepare project plans and provide guidance.
