Responsibilities
- Create professional technical project and user documentation, including systems and operational procedures.
- Develop a wide range of technical project and user documentation, including procedures.
- Utilize various technical writing methods, tools, and techniques, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Develop online documentation to support users and stakeholders.
- Gain knowledge and experience with communications protocols relevant to documentation needs.
- Use tools for the creation, distribution, and maintenance of project and user documentation.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including development, business, and testing groups.
- Create quick start guides that outline the main steps for users.
- Develop detailed configuration and administrative guides covering all necessary details for users.
- Create glossaries or lists of terms and definitions to assist users in understanding documentation.
- Utilize office automation suites, presentation tools, and at least one authoring package to create documentation.
- Collaborate as a team player with a strong track record for meeting deadlines.
- Ensure proficiency in English for all written documentation.
- Understand and apply the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations to ensure accessibility in all documentation.
- Use standard technical writing tools, such as Microsoft Office and/or Adobe Technical Communication Suite, effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience in the creation of technical documentation, system policies and guidelines (related to System Access Control and IT Standard Operations Procedures), including procedures at the specified experience level
- Experience with a wide range of technical writing methods, tools and techniques and knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Experience in the research and gathering of related policies and practices that could be used to develop the required guidelines for this project
- Knowledge and experience in developing on-line documentation
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards and in ensuring any or all guidelines developed will be accessible
