The Ideal Candidate: Ideally, you bring over a decade of experience installing and servicing multi-dwelling unit access panels, automatic door systems, intercoms, CCTV systems, smart home setups, telecommunications networks, and perhaps even some IT knowledge like desktop computer installation or data recovery.
Physical Prowess: This role may involve emergency call work, requiring physical agility. Bending, kneeling, crawling, lifting, pulling, and carrying may be part of the job. You'll also spend time both indoors and outdoors, so being comfortable in various weather conditions is essential.
Diverse Work Environments: You'll find yourself working in a variety of settings, from outdoor areas of buildings to condo lobbies, commercial facilities, and even residential homes.
Your Role: Expect to spend 75% of your time overseeing and assisting junior and mid-level technicians, and the remaining 25% attending to emergency repair calls for complex systems. Independence is key, as you'll handle tasks that require physical dexterity, such as navigating tight spaces to pull conduit.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with one week of on-call work every eight weeks (minimum 3 hours paid for every on-call job)

Responsibilities
• Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of:
➡ Access control panels (fob/card reader entry for multi-dwelling units and office buildings)
➡ Telephone entry systems/intercoms
➡ Automatic door operation systems
➡ Elevator security components
➡ CCTV systems
➡ Intermediate level IT services such as desktop computer set-up and data recovery (experience with this an asset but not concrete requirement)
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients whenever present at job sites
• Servicing systems indoors and outdoors in a variety of different environments
• Loading and maintaining tools and equipment
• Monitoring and documenting inventory levels, submitting ordering requests for customer parts that are not on hand, ensuring commonly used items are in stock at all times
• Overseeing junior and mid-level technicians on job sites
• Providing quality control for jobs completed by less experienced technicians
• Providing coaching and on the job training to less experienced technicians
• Driving work vehicles to and from job sites around the GTA
• Recording any issues or concerns regarding the vehicle fleet and submitting requests for maintenance or repair to the appropriate department
Qualifications
• 7-10 years of experience or more in a security systems or telecommunications technician role
• Must have expert-level knowledge of, and experience with low voltage system installation
• Must be highly experienced at using hand and power tools
• Must be in acceptable physical condition to be able to perform required tasks (such as pulling conduit, lifting components up to 50lbs, bending, crawling, etc)
• Should have experience with, and be comfortable working in all elements - projects can be outside or in underground parking garages
• Must have experience in client-facing roles with excellent customer service skills
• MUST possess a valid G-class driver's license with a clean drivers abstract
• Experience navigating GTA roadways an asset
