Our client, a leading Canadian real estate organization recognized as a creator of workspaces that foster creativity and innovation, is looking to hire a Specialist, Lease Documentation - Legal Affairs for their downtown Montreal office in a temporary 12-month period.
Advantages

- 37,5 hours / week at work
- 2 weeks of vacation (half days before long weekends (adds up to ~25 days off in the year);

- Salary range between 85k$ and 95k$/year (depending on experience);

Responsibilities
Prepare, draft and negotiate commercial and retails leases and related documentation;
Complete all due diligence activities related to requests for landlord’s consent to transfer;
Ensure the compliance of agreements according to federal and provincial laws, as well as departmental organizational policies, procedures and strategies;
Communicate and negotiate non-business provisions contained in the various agreements directly with lawyers, tenants and other third parties;
Support the development of policies related to lease pre-approvals, precedents and sections;
Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders in response to lease related matters;
Assist internal departments with legal queries;
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in law or recognized college level Law Clerk program or equivalent work experience.;
2-4 years of experience drafting and negotiating leases in a real estate environment (retail and commercial - requested) ;
Ability to work both independently and cohesively with team members;
Strong computer skills and use of MS Office;
Excellent communications skills with problem-solving and analytical skills;
Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.;
A continuous improvement mindset;
Strong knowledge of Urban Data Centers leases (Asset);
Experience with M-files and YARDI (asset)
