Responsibilities
Collaborate and coordinate with members of the project coordination team.
Analyze blueprints, structural drawings, plans, specifications, and the client's scope of work.
Conduct material take-offs for change orders based on architectural and structural drawings.
Take responsibility for managing client expectations, resolving issues, and ensuring overall client satisfaction.
Solicit and assess subcontractors based on criteria such as price, quality, service, and support.
Oversee the project from initiation to completion, addressing any challenges that arise, and serving as a liaison between the drafting team, subcontractors, and clients as needed.
Conduct site visits, meet with site supervisors, and collaborate with steel erection foremen to review all work.
Maintain accurate records of jobsite conditions by documenting them in written reports accompanied by supporting photos.
Fulfill various office duties as required on a project-specific basis.
Demonstrate an understanding of risk management policies and procedures.
Efficiently manage time, subcontractors, and relationships with key stakeholders.
Comprehend project budgets and continually monitor project and team performance, along with project and team costs.
Supervise quality control, conduct health and safety checks, and inspect the work performed.
Qualifications
Experience in the construction industry.
Demonstrated capability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong organizational skills, adept problem-solving abilities, unwavering integrity, and effective task prioritization.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in mathematics and familiarity with the CISC Handbook of Steel Construction and drawing office standards.
Understanding of revenue, cost, gross margin, and cash management principles.
Knowledge of computer-assisted design (CAD) and proficiency with drafting workstations.
Comprehension of bolt design and weld values in elementary connection design.
Ability to apply basic weld symbols in the context of structural steel.
