Responsibilities
Responsible for managing & developing test activities, aligned to Sun Life Quality Engineering practices, as part of an agile squad.
Apply an automation-first mindset to testing activities.
Participate in agile ceremonies, team meetings as required.
Ensure the testing team has the appropriate test environment and test data.
Report and manage defects to closure, with collaboration from IT and business partners.
Manage/report on testing and defect metrics using qTest and JIRA (and possibly Grafana).
Qualifications
University degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of Quality Assurance work experience, including leadership roles
Solid understanding of ETL concepts
Knowledge of coding/query languages including complex SQL/HIVE, basic Python
Experience with PyETL and/or Tosca automation framework
Knowledge of HIVE tables, querying tools (i.e. HUE, Zeppelin/Sagemaker, Trino)
Comfortable managing test execution and defects in qTest and JIRA
Familiar with enterprise data lake concepts
Experience with Agile (Scrum and Kanban) methodology
Knowledge of DevOps, Continuous Integration and delivery concepts, specifically continuous testing
NICE TO HAVE
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly
Approach tasks with an innovative mindset, positive outlook
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
