Responsibilities
As a Parts Technician in Yellowknife, a normal day would include:
- Manage all aspects of parts management, encompassing inventory control, cataloging, and meticulous record-keeping.
- Determine the precise parts needed for equipment repairs and maintenance, procure them from suppliers, and promptly place orders.
- Receive and inspect incoming parts shipments for accuracy, quality, and damages. Verify orders against packing slips or purchase orders.
- Regularly monitor inventory levels, perform stock checks, and ensure adequate stock is maintained. Conduct periodic inventory audits.
- Coordinate the prompt distribution of parts to technicians and relevant personnel, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of equipment and machinery parts, including their compatibility and technical specifications, to ensure precise identification and ordering.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations when handling parts and working in the parts department.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team, technicians, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless operations and effective parts management.
Qualifications
What do you need for this position?
- Possess a valid journeyman or Red Seal Parts Technician certification
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a parts technician in the Mining, Construction, or Forestry industries is an asset
- Strong skills in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to precisely identify and source the correct parts.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Capable of lifting heavy parts and equipment, as well as performing physical tasks as needed.
- Ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical as well as Drug and Alcohol check
- Relatively clear Drivers Abstract
