We are actively seeking 3 talented 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Welders and 3 Apprentice Fitters/Sheet Metal Workers to join our busy, established fabrication shop on a temp-to-perm basis.
We have aggressive hiring targets for early 2026, focusing on tank and gauged metal fabrication for our Night Shift crew.
This is an exceptional opportunity for dedicated apprentices to secure a long-term position with guaranteed conversion.
Night Shift Details
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM (4x10s or 4x11s).
Optional OT: Fridays or Sundays (Night Shift)

Night Shift Rate (+$3 Premium)
3rd Year Apprentice (Preferred) $34.50 - $37.20
2nd Year Apprentice (Preferred) $29.25 - $31.50
Performance-Based Pay: Wage is determined by your demonstrated performance and skill level—not just schooling.
Early raises are common for high-performing candidates.
Overtime: Paid after 44 hours/week or 9 hours/day.
Optional OT available on Friday and Sunday nights.
Permanent Potential: Your temp time counts toward the probation period, and comprehensive benefits are effective immediately upon conversion to permanent status.
Shop Provided Gear: The company supplies tools, glasses, and gloves. You only need your helmet, boots, and hard hat.
Mandatory pre-employment D&A testing (THC tolerant—no consumption on the job site).
Responsibilities
Build and weld structural steel assemblies such as columns, beams, trusses, and similar components in alignment with detailed drawings, blueprints, and project requirements.
Execute high-quality welds using FCAW and MCAW processes to meet production and safety expectations.
Perform welding in every position—flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead—while meeting all CWB compliance standards.
Interpret and follow complex technical documents, including welding procedure specifications (WPS), shop drawings, and weld symbols.
Use fabrication equipment safely, including grinders, cutting torches, overhead cranes, and other shop tools, while ensuring proper maintenance.
Work closely with fitters, QC personnel, and fellow trades, supporting smooth workflow and timely project completion.
Maintain a cooperative, safety-focused mindset, contributing to an orderly and productive shop environment.
Inspect completed welds visually and carry out required touch-ups or corrections to ensure all work meets quality and code requirements.
Qualifications
Target Audience: We are specifically looking for candidates at the 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice level (or equivalent experience).
Work Type: Structural and gauged metal fabrication, with a focus on welding and fitting tanks.
Welding Processes: Must have experience with Flux Core (FCAW) and Metal Core (MCAW). Proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) is also required.
Fitters: Read blueprints, lay out, position, align, and secure parts for welding according to detailed drawings. Apprentice Sheet Metal Workers with fitting experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Preferred Assets:
CWB certification (an asset, not strictly required for shop roles).
Experience with Aluminum or Stainless Steel welding.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Hiring Process
Behavioral Interview: We are looking for candidates who are upbeat/fun and focused/hard-working.
Drug & Alcohol Test: Mandatory 5-panel Work-to-Fitness D&A test.
In-Person Weld Test: Primarily focused on Flat/Horizontal (1F/2F) position using MIG (GMAW).
