Account Manager – Sales / Business Development
Fort St. John, British Columbia
Permanent, Full-Time

Our client, a multinational corporation and proud to be included on the Alberta Top 70 Employer list and of Canada’s Safest Employer award is looking to hire a permanent Account Manager to join their team in Fort St. John, British Columbia.

Job Summary

The Account Manager has overall responsibility for all accounts assigned within a geographic area to grow profit for the organization’s market share using consultative selling process. The successful candidate identifies and captures new business opportunities at existing accounts and prospective new accounts. This role is ideal for an experienced sales and marketing professional, ideally with experience in chemical sales and in a team lead or managerial position, who has a thorough understanding of the Northern Alberta / British Columbia area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Main customer focus is midstream, water treatment and industrial
• Call on established and prospective customers to sell company products and services
• Co-ordinate with Customer Service and Operations to maintain customer service levels and ensure resolution of complaints
• Co-ordinate with Purchasing department to ensure availability of product
• Proactively plan customer visits
• Utilize to manage customer information during all planning phases
• Out of town travel is expected. Estimated at 5 to 6 nights per month.


• Great drive in doing sales and hitting targets; 2 to 3 years (or more) previous sales and/or customer service experience preferred
• Chemical sales experience is a strong asset but not mandatory
• Education related to Chemical Engineering is a plus but not mandatory
• Effective and engaging communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to work within company policy where experience and independent judgment is demonstrated
• Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
• Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
• Ability to relate to, and communicate with, individuals at all levels
• Ability to work with minimum or no supervision
• Ability to work individually or as part of the team
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Valid driver’s license
