We are actively searching for qualified candidates to fill a branch management position for a public practice accounting firm in Red Deer, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing firm with multiple locations and a large client base. If you are a CPA designated accountant with 5+ years handling years ends and tax returns in public practice and strong leadership skills this could be an ideal position for you!

The general responsibilities will include:
-Managing daily operations in the Wainwright office
-Overseeing personnel
-Handling CRA interactions
-Maintaining and develop relationships with clients
-Responding to queries from clients and personnel
-Preparing year ends
-Training accounting technicians on preparing working papers in CaseWare
-Reviewing files processed by the office to ensure the Firm’s standard is maintained
-Assisting with onboarding, coaching and training of personnel

The successful candidate will possess:

- a CPA designation
- a minimum of 5 years’ experience handling years-ends and tax returns in public practice
- strong leadership skills
- exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- knowledge of accounting guidelines
- familiarity with the use of CaseWare, Profile, Jazzit, Quickbooks, QBO, Sage
- the ability to prioritize and work independently
- strong attention to detail
- analytical, and problem-solving skills
- the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
