Responsibilities
Manage and support the AR & AP team ( not afraid to be hands-on when needed) review gl transactions, cheque runs, review aging and billing
Review and post entries while ensuring appropriate backup related to accruals
Prepare select journal entries and reconciliations
Monitor and maintain schedules including schedules for prepaid expenses, deferred revenues and accrued liabilities to ensure accurate financial reporting
Assist with month-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with the accounting policies and regulatory requirements ( GST, HST remittance)
Assistance with the year end financial audit
Analytical review of the reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Analyze expenses from expense reports to ensure compliance with internal policies
Prepare ad hoc analysis
Make recommendations for process improvements and/or internal controls
Collaborate with others across departments
Various financial analysis (including ratio analysis) upon request
any other task needed to accomplish your role as indicated by your superior
Qualifications
Must have a Canadian CPA designation
1-2 years of management experience
Experience with a Tier 2 or great EPR is an asset ( great plains, NetSuite, J.D.E, PeopleSoft, etc.)
Strong excel skills
Excellent communications and presentation skills
