Responsibilities
Supervise and manage the activities of accounting staff, including accounts payable and accounts receivable clerks, bookkeepers, and other accounting professionals
Ensure that all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, and that all financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the department operates efficiently and effectively
Monitor and review the work of accounting staff to ensure that it meets departmental standards and objectives
Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training, coaching, and mentoring as needed
Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and other financial reports as needed
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvements to accounting processes and procedures
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial information and support for decision-making
Qualifications
Bachelors in Accounting or DEC with relevant experience
3 years of experience in accounting or related field
1 years of supervisory experience
Bilingual (An asset)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working with Great Plains or other ERP systems
