Our large enterprise Edmonton client requires an Adobe Coldfusion Developer Contractor on contract for 3 months with possible extension.
This position requires in depth experience with Adobe Coldfusion server products,
the coldfusion markup language (CFML), an intricate knowledge of coupling the
...
ColdFusion server with Microsoft IIS, as well as a deep working knowledge of
relational databases (i.e. Oracle and/or MS SQL Server). The base code is made
up of standard HTML, along with inline CFML and javascript.
The position requires someone with historical experience of the Adobe CF version 9,
as well as the latest version, Adobe Coldfusion version 2021. The objective is
to assist in translating the legacy code to current code. This will also
require an understanding of deprecated syntax, and translating these to

Oracle database. The ability to translate the embedded calls from Oracle to SQL
Server would be a definite asset. Database schema export and bulk load would
also be considered an asset.
The contractor will take a lead role on the translation, and work with a small core
group of developers. The knowledge transfer will assist our team as we learn
and document the application in support of our business. Recommendations for
change will be discussed with the team to understand long term options as we
manage this in-house application over the next year or two.
