Responsibilities
The main responsibility of this resource is to provide the services of a full stack Oracle developer specialized in APEX, PL/SQL with some exposure to the other Oracle development tools being used in these applications such as ODI and the relational database.
Works in partnership with clients, advising them on information technology in order to meet their business objectives or overcome problems, work to improve structure and efficiency of an organization’s I&IT systems.
The I&IT Consultant may be used to provide strategic guidance to organizations with regard to Information Management & IT technology, IT infrastructures and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT.
Provides subject matter expertise in their field and highly expert technical assistance.
Qualifications
Core Technical Skills: 35%
Demonstrated experience developing complex applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX) with a minimum of 2 recent years of working primarily as an APEX developer with version 18 or above. In depth knowledge and experience with APEX must be clearly shown through recent assignments.
Demonstrated experience developing APEX applications using Java/JavaScript and similar development tools to extend basic functionality.
Demonstrated experience performing the basic functions of an Oracle database administrator.
Demonstrated advanced level of knowledge of creating Oracle PL/SQL procedures, functions and package with at least 5 years experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of techniques for optimizing the performance of SQL queries DML and APEX applications.
Application-Specific Skills: 35%
Demonstrated experience working with applications that perform or manage transfer payments or similar financial transaction management functionality.
Demonstrated experience developing accessible web applications to the WCAG 2.0 standard is highly desirable.
Some experience integrating BI Publisher with APEX would be desirable.
Knowledge and experience using ODI is desirable.
Experience with at least one APEX application that is integrated with OAM (Oracle Single Sign-On) is desirable.
Some experience working with APEX in a Hyperion Planning or Essbase environment is desirable.
Demonstrated experience providing and delivering Oracle-based solutions that are GO-ITS compliance and familiarity with GO-ITS standards and processes would be an asset
Demonstrated experience with public sector financial applications, ideally in a Hyperion Planning context and ideally related to the education or post-secondary education sectors would be an asset
