Assistant Controller, CPA
Cornwall, ON
Salary starting: 70k
Start date: as soon as possible - Q4

A medium sized Accounting team in Cornwall, ON is seeking an Assistant Controller to coordinate and oversee all daily accounting and treasury processes as well as the monthly financial reporting processes. This role provides growth opportunities and offers the possibility to utilize your process improvement skills. Having your professional accounting designations is a requirement.

Position overview:

- Prepare budgets, forecasts and management reporting;
- Build business cases and models to support investment decisions;
- Complete special projects on an ad-hoc basis, as requested;
- Use monthly financial output to identify risks and opportunities in how the facility is being run;
- Assist with all processes and outputs linked to monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;
- Implement and monitor financial and operational KPIs;
- Flag risks associated with cash collection as they arise and try to find solutions to mitigate;
- Compute variances and identify reasons for the difference between actual, forecast and budgeted figures and escalate issues as appropriate;
- Review and update the costing model;
- Ensure that operational improvement programs are respected and monitored;
- Identify and make recommendations on business risks and opportunities;
- Other duties as assigned.
