Responsibilities
• Maintain plans and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and follow best practices
• Design, implement, and test measurement systems
• Lead and coordinate third party contractors through the software development lifecycle for PLC and HMI based measurement systems
• Provide technical guidance, instruction, and assistance to EIT’s and junior engineers
• Maintain and expand expertise with current and emerging technology
• Remain aware of advancements in automation and control technology and assist in the evaluation and justification of potential future implementations
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
• Eight (8)+ years progressive relevant industry experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or related discipline
• APEGA Professional Engineer designation
• Able to prioritize and manage numerous competing work requests simultaneously
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders
• Desire to be part of a dynamic team, within a fast-paced environment
• Effective problem-solving skills
• An understanding of oil movements and batched operations within liquid pipeline facilities
Preferred qualifications
• Previous operations and field experience
• Experience in engineering design, construction and commissioning
• Knowledge of liquid pipeline and terminal operations
• Strong technical understanding of pipeline measurement including pipeline control system experience
• Capable of making decisions which have broad impact to the organization in complex and ambiguous situations
• Self-motivated and able to work and problem solve with minimum supervision and direction
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills by demonstrating the ability to network and build/maintain relationships
• Strong team orientation, demonstrating a high level of cooperation
• Experience with Sensia Omniflow Computers and Caldon Ultrasonic Flowmeters
• Experience with GE PLC’s and Wonderware HMI’s
• Experience with Rosemount transmitters and TankMaster Inventory Management System
• Experience with FMC Sybervisor Measurement systems and Smith PD Meters
• Prover’s, Densometers, viscometers
Summary
This position requires candidates to:
• Travel to other company locations, consultant and vendor facilities in Canada and the US. As such, the successful candidate will be required to provide applicable documentation to this effect;
• Have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Provide a driver's abstract for review.
